Does your company have a matching gift program? Many corporations have a matching gift program through which they will match your gift to Special Olympics New York. This match can double, triple, or even quadruple the amount of your gift. If you (or your spouse) work for a matching gift company, please consider having your gift matched by the employer.

Q: What is the Matching Gift Program?

A: Many companies encourage their employees to donate to tax exempt charities by offering to match, or sometimes double, the donation of an employee 

Q: How do I apply for matching gift at my company?

A: The program application is usually available on the company Internet or Intranet site. It can also be obtained from the appropriate Human Resources department. You only need to complete the donor section of the form and mail it with your donation to Special Olympics New York. In some leading edge corporation you can fill the form directly on the intranet. Appropriate department sends non-profit documents for signature. 

Q: What does Special Olympics New York do?

A: Special Olympics New York receives the form (from donor or corporation), fills the section required by non-profits to be filled and sends back to corporation with legal documents. In turn company sends matching donation.

Q: For what projects Special Olympics New York uses those matching funds?

A: Matching funds are considered general fund donation and are used to run the organization. You will agree that it costs to run an organization. 

Q: What kind of donation triggers matching donation?

A: It can be funds through check, cash, Credit / Debit card, stocks or even at some companies your time volunteered at non-profit.

Q: Can I am donate with the Automatic Monthly Withdrawal Program via Bank Withdrawal or Credit Card Withdrawal Programs? How can I get the donation matched?
